A rising country music star from B.C. made another breakthrough and is the fan's choice in Canada.

Cameron Whitcomb was one of the big winners at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Prospera Place in Kelowna.

Whitcomb, the singer of Quitter and Gasoline and Matches, won the Fan's Choice Award at the CCMAs, and also captured Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

Another double winner was Josh Ross, honoured as Entertainer of the Year and also the winner of Single of the Year for Single Again. MacKenzie Porter won Female Artist of the Year, Jade Eagleson won Male Artist of the Year and the James Barker Band took home Group of the Year. Owen Riegling won Album of the Year for Bruce County (From the Beginning) .
