VAN ALSTYNE, Texas (KTEN) -- Creations made of cotton sat alongside trinkets and this morning, as young entrepreneurs brought their booths to the Railcar Farmers Market.
Behind the booths, young business owners like Gemma, Rylan, and Micah prepared for a big day. For them, it's a chance to earn some cold hard cash.
"Well, I have my own dirt bike, and I have to pay for my own gas money... so that’s what I spend it on," said 12-year-old Rylan.
These tiny tycoons were up Saturday morning, ready to sell homemade goods to friends, family, and anyone else passing by.
“People come by and like... sometimes they’re bored, and I can give them a fidget — and they’re not bored anymore,” said Micah.
The market’s true value, however, runs deeper.
“The Youth Market is about supporting the next gene
