The prime minister of Albania has accused Nigel Farage of talking “bullshit” about his country.

Edi Rama rejected the Reform UK leader’s claims about the number of immigrants from his country being in British jails.

Farage has claimed that “one in 50 Albanians in Britain are in prison”.

But on Times Radio this morning, Rama said: “There is a lot of bullshit in all this because there is not a high number of Albanian prisoners in the UK that somehow distinguish[es] itself from the overall number of UK prisoners and from other nationalities of prisoners.

“So it’s a little piece of the big mosaic of lies and of self-delusional arguments that were used to convince the British people to leave the European Union.”
