The Atlanta Falcons (0-1) and the Minnesota Vikings (1-0) meet for Sunday Night Football at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's Falcons vs. Vikings odds and tab the 5 best prop bets to win among SportsbookWire's expert NFL picks and predictions for Week 2.
The Falcons opened the season with a thrilling 23-20 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home in Week 1. While the result was disappointing, it was a very good game. QB Michael Penix Jr. hit RB Bijan Robinson for a 50-yard touchdown to open the scoring in the first 2 minutes, and Penix also had a rushing score. However, at the buzzer in regulation, PK Younghoe Koo pushed a game-tying field goal to the right.
Koo did not travel for the Week 2 game, as former Vikings kicker John Parker Romo was elevated from the practice squad to kick in his old digs as the visitor.
Atlanta posted 23 first downs, including 16 through the air, while totaling 358 total yards, to just 260 for the Bucs. Atlanta averaged 5.0 yards per play, too, but it was just 6-of-15 on third-down efficiency, and it had the missed kick at the zeroes.
The Vikings got off to a sluggish start in Week 1 as QB J.J. McCarthy and company found themselves down 17-6 at the Chicago Bears heading to the fourth quarter Monday night. However, McCarthy heated up in the final 15 minutes, throwing TDs to WR Justin Jefferson and RB Aaron Jones, while adding a 14-yard scoring run with just 2:53 remaining. Minnesota erased the 11-point deficit, winning 27-24.
Minnesota had just 14 first downs, to Chicago's 20, while managing only 49 total plays, to 63 for the Bears. The Vikings just couldn't sustain drives until the final quarter. The Vikings were also the victim of a pick-6, while losing the turnover battle 2-to-1. Still, it rallied in the fourth quarter, and the Minnesota offense enters with a little bit of swagger now.

Falcons RB Bijan Robinson ANYTIME TD (-150)
Robinson had just his second career 100-yard receiving game in Week 1, and half of those yards came on a touchdown grab just 2 minutes into the game. That's not usually how Robinson scores, as he had just 1 receiving TD in 2024, while finding the end zone 14 times on the ground.
In a game in Minnesota Dec. 8, 2024, Robinson had 22 rushes for 92 yards and a TD in a 42-21 loss. His 13-yard rushing score late in the third quarter tied the game 21-21 before the Vikings pulled away.
Robinson is a TD machine, and while Penix looked impressive last week, the tailback is the straw that stirs the Atlanta drink.
Vikings RB Aaron Jones OVER 38.5 RUSHING YARDS (-125)
Jones got off to a sluggish start against the Bears Monday night, totaling just 23 rushing yards on 8 attempts, or 2.9 yards per carry. RB Jordan Mason ran 15 times for a game-high 68 yards, or 4.5 yards per attempt, so coach Kevin O'Connell stuck with the hot hand. This will be a fluid situation for Minnesota, so take advantage with a huge drop in Jones' projections.
Jones did rack up 44 receiving yards and a TD on 3 receptions, so it wasn't like he was forgotten about. Last season, Jones racked up 13 carries for 73 yards and a TD run against the Falcons in the Week 14 game at home. Jones should be able to at least get to 40 rushing yards, even in a timeshare.
- FALCONS AT VIKINGS: Odds, picks and predictions
Falcons TE Kyle Pitts OVER 3.5 RECEPTIONS MADE (+120)
The erratic Atlanta tight end was good for 7 receptions for 59 yards on 8 targets in Week 1 against the Bucs. While that's impressive, he was seeing a little more volume with WR Darnell Mooney inactive. Pitts should see his workload decrease a bit, with Mooney expected to come online and make his season debut.
Still, Pitts is a good value at plus money. Penix is a young quarterback still making his way, and players like Pitts are valuable on short-to-intermediate routes as a safety valve.
Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. OVER 224.5 PASSING YARDS (-115)
Penix flirted with 300 passing yards in Week 1 against the Buccaneers under the roof in Atlanta. He got off to a quick start with the early TD strike to Robinson. However, he was effective most of the game, with no miscues.
In Week 2, he is expected to have another option, Mooney, in the passing game. The Falcons also got good news this week that WR Drake London (shoulder) is not on the injury report ahead of SNF. With a full cadre of receivers, and no adverse weather conditions, Penix should shine. Getting to at least 225 passing yards shouldn't be a problem.

Vikings PK Will Reichard OVER 7.5 POINTS (-105)
Reichard made 2 field goals in Week 1, including a 59-yarder, and added 1 extra point. He had 7 points outdoors in Chicago Monday night. Under controlled environmental conditions in the Twin Cities, he should be good for a few more chances and points.
Yep, that's 2 weeks in a row with kicker props!
