At the behest of President Trump, some states are “redistricting”, more pejoratively termed “gerrymandering”, to pursue a perceived advantage for one political party in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections for the federal House of Representatives.

Gerrymandering in this case involves a statewide manipulation of congressional district boundaries that prizes the needs of a political party over those of any community, group or individual.
