Longstanding Nottingham landlord Mick Roberts

A Nottingham landlord says his tenants could be "stuffed" because of how the city council is handling his keys after the authority had to change the rules for one of his properties.

Mick Roberts, a landlord in Nottingham for 28 years , has long battled the city council's selective licensing policies and recently confirmed he is trying to sell many of his properties as a result.

Nottingham City Council's scheme was first introduced in 2018, and the current version began in December 2023. Selective licensing covers an estimated 30,000 properties in Nottingham, and the city council says forcing landlords to get the licences for a fee helps ensure properties are in good condition.
