Queen Creek senator blasts university leaders
A vigil for Charlie Cook will take place Monday at Desert Financial Arena in Tempe, Arizona State University officials confirmed Monday.
The vigil is scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
“All reports that the vigil was not proceeding or that student groups were being charged are false,” ASU officials stated in a release on Saturday.
Sen. Jake Hoffman, R-Queen Creek, posted on X Saturday that ASU “has felt the heat and seen the light and done a complete 180 — now offering to cover all the expenses and allowing the students to hold their prayer vigil in honor of Charlie Kirk free of charge.
“You should have done this from the beginning. Be better next time.”
