Much will be made of the San Francisco 49ers heading into Week 2 hobbled, and rightfully so. No Brock Purdy or George Kittle, which means Mac Jones will be forced to rely heavily on Christian McCaffrey and Ricky Pearsall. How aggressive will Kyle Shanahan be with a backup? During the week, he said all of the right things about Jones. We’ll be able to tell by Shanahan’s play-calling how much he trusts Jones.

The 49ers will score in the 20s. Or, they should, at least, barring multiple turnovers. The scheme isn’t changing, and San Francisco still has the talent edge. The Saints are missing some key players on both sides of the ball, making their margin for error slim to none.

The Niners’ defense will be the best unit on the field. Robert Saleh was aggressive against Sam Darnold in Week 1. T
