MCCAYSVILLE, Ga. — The police chief in McCaysville gave a status update Sunday on Capt. Brantley Worley, who was critically shot late Friday night earlier responding to a call for a service at a home.

The shooting spawned a daylong manhunt with the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Timothy Craig Ramsey, eventually taken into custody .

According to McCaysville PD Chief Michael Early, Capt. Worley remains stable after he was shot in the face.

"The brain bleed has not changed, and we are waiting on word regarding the results of his latest CT scan. Doctors are also considering surgery on his nose, as the break has made it difficult for him to breathe," a Facebook post by the chief said .
