CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Police are searching for a man who went missing from his northeast Charlotte home Sunday morning.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Ikechukwu Obiora, 70, left his home on Brownes Creek Road around 7:30 a.m.

According to his family, he is diagnosed with dementia and made a recent mention of traveling to “Highway 49″, which is in Arkansas. He does not have his phone or his wallet.

A Silver Alert for Obiora was issued by the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons.

Obiora is traveling in a silver 2013 Toyota Venza with no tag. It is unknown at this time what he was wearing when he left his home.

He was described as being 6′2″ tall and 207 pounds. He has black/gray hair and brown eyes.
