WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman remains hospitalized Sunday after she was stabbed during a fight in West Hollywood, authorities said.

It happened around 3 a.m. in the 8900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies found the woman - identified only as a female in her 20s - suffering from a stab wound to her upper body. She was treated at the scene and rushed to the hospital where she's listed in critical condition.

The sheriff's department said the fight involved several people but information on a suspect was not available.

Homicide investigators weren't notified of the incident until 8 a.m. due to the severity of the victim's injuries, the sheriff's department said.

The incident remains under investigation.
