The Soo Greyhounds closed out the 2025 OHL pre-season in something that very much resembled pre-season form, blowing an early 3-0 lead to lose 8-5 to the Saginaw Spirit at GFL Memorial Gardens.
It was the second consecutive meeting between the two clubs following their Friday night clash in Midland, Mich, in which the Hounds doubled the Spirit for a 6-3 win.
Midway through the first frame, Quinn McKenzie picked up right where he left off on Friday night, opening the scoring on a breakaway. He capped the pre-season with four goals and six points in four games, leading the Hounds. He figures to be an important offensive needle-mover this season with his speed and determination to make plays whenever the puck finds his stick.
