EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A frightening crash in East New York sent a man to the hospital and left a teenager in police custody, after witnesses said the impact could have been deadly for others nearby.
Police said the incident happened just before 10 a.m. Sunday at Pennsylvania Avenue and Hegeman Avenue. Surveillance video from a nearby market shows the moment a 71-year-old man, standing near a light pole on the sidewalk, was struck.
