Thousands gathered in the nation’s capital for a prayer vigil in honor of Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist shot and killed at a college campus in Utah.

By the age of 31, Kirk had become one of the top power brokers in President Donald Trump’s orbit. He had built his organization, the Arizona-based Turning Point USA, into a political behemoth that raised and spent millions for GOP causes and candidates.
