AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We’re less than 2 weeks away from the anniversary of Hurricane Helene, and the CSRA is still recovering from the storm.
The Saint John United Methodist Church had to leave after the hurricane because a tree fell on the building, heavily damaging their roof.
The 225-year-old church started a Hurricane Helene recovery and renovations team to oversee the project of rebuilding the historic church.

Richmond County Sheriff’s Office found a body along Riverbend Road that had washed ashore.
We spoke to the pastor in charge of the church to learn what the next steps are.
