SYLVANIA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The family of a 5-year-old girl who was hit and killed by a car is remembering her.

5-year-old Kyleigh was killed on September 11 while waiting for the school bus.

Richmond County deputies discover body ashore the Savannah River

Richmond County Sheriff’s Office found a body along Riverbend Road that had washed ashore.

Officials say a Dodge Dart was traveling northbound on Whitehill Road in Screven County. While waiting at the bus stop, GSP says, “The child darted into the roadway for an unknown reason and was struck.”

Kyleigh was taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
