The Emmy Awards have a deserved reputation for rewarding the same shows over and over—but at the 2025 ceremony , all bets were off. With the exception of Adolescence sweeping the limited series race and The Studio racking up statuettes in several categories—but not all of them!—the night was surprisingly unpredictable, up to the moment that The Pitt triumphed over Severance to win best drama. (Even we thought that AppleTV+’s stylish series had that category in the bag . Whoops!)
