STURGIS, Ky. (WEHT) -- Future hunters in Sturgis hit the books today for hunter education range day.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and God's Backwoods Disciples Ministries teamed up for the free course. The event focused on live fire and hands-on field work. Plus helping kids' get their orange card to hunt legally.
“We do it as a volunteer to help out and help kids get their hunter's education safety card, which a lot of people call their orange card, to get them which is required by hunters in the state of Kentucky if they're 12 years or older,” hunter education instructor Troy Black said.
The course was held at God's Backwoods Disciples Ministry Farm.
