WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a homicide case out of Fort Washington.

Detectives were called to the 500 block of Bonhill Drive on Sunday just before 2 p.m. They were sent to conduct a welfare check.

When officials arrived, they found a woman inside the home suffering from trauma to the body. Officials pronounced her dead at the scene.

A second victim, a man, was found inside the home as well with visible injuries. Officials transported him to a local hospital in critical condition.

The identities of the victims have not been made public at this time.

Investigators are working to piece together the events that led up to this. They haven't released any information about a suspect at this time.
