DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN)- Durham Police are continuing to investigate two separate shootings that occurred early Sunday.

The first happened around 1:50 a.m. near the 100 block of East Main Street at the parking garage on South Mangum Street.

Wayne Watson is a bartender at 106 Main next door and was closing when gunshots were fired.

“Just loud, and hearing cars screech off and people running everywhere -- that kind of thing," Watson said about the commotion.

A short time later, his boss, Mike Bourquin, had just arrived home on Meade Lane, where another shooting happened.

“There was quite a bit of police, and law enforcement right here in the neighborhood," Bourquin said.

CBS17 Haylee Kennedy asked if it was shocking to see the police presence so close to home.

Bourquin replied, "no."
