You would be forgiven for thinking summer has arrived early in Brisbane, with temperatures predicted to climb to 30 degrees this week – less than a month into spring.
Forecast to arrive on Wednesday is the season’s first 30-degree day – nearly 6 degrees above the long-term September average – with maximum temperatures expected to hover between 27 and 29 degrees until Sunday.

It will be the warmest day since the Anzac Day public holiday on April 25 this year, when the temperature reached 30.2 degrees.
“We are looking at a period of real warmth coming through,” Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Helen Reid said.
“It is the time of the season where we do start to see those warmer days creeping in.”
