ENFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Friends, family and community members are remembering the life of a town employee after his death on Friday in Enfield.
Jamie Nickerson was killed after a lawn mower he was riding was struck by a car, causing severe burns to himself. Nickerson was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and was pronounced dead shortly after.
In a candlelight vigil held on the town green, dozens shared support and stories of Nickerson's impact to the town.
"There's not a lot of people that weren't touched by Jamie by some way, shape, or form," Gina Cekala said.
As a close friend to Nickerson's wife, Cekala says she's holding memories of the group spending time with each other close as to remember her friend.
"He would just look at me every once in a while, with a smile
