Stephen Colbert picked up an Emmy win after his show was canceled by CBS.
The 61-year-old talk show host picked up the award for Best Talk Series at the 2025 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 14) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The win came just a couple months after CBS decided to pull the plug on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert after ten years on the air. The show will come to an end in May 2026.
Stephen said in his speech, “I realized that in some ways, we were doing a late night comedy show about loss, and that’s related to love, because sometimes you only truly know how much you love something when you get a sense that you might be losing it. Ten years later, in September of 2025, my friends, I have never loved my country more desperately. God bless America. S
