US President Donald Trump on Sunday gave mixed signals about the future of TikTok . He hinted that China could end up deciding what happens to the app, even though a September 17 deadline is approaching for its parent company ByteDance to sell its US business or face a ban.

Speaking to reporters in New Jersey, Trump said he was unsure if he would extend the deadline for the TikTok deal.

“I may or may not. We are negotiating TikTok right now. We may let it die, or we may.. I don’t know. It depends on China . It doesn’t matter too much. I would love to do it for the kids, they like it,” Trump said.
