BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The Texas Roadrunners hockey team move to 6-0 to start off the 2025-26 season. This coming after sweeping the Carolina Rage in their home opening series.

Apart of the North American Three Hockey League, the Roadrunners first began play under head coach Mike Beavis seven years ago.

“Year one was a tough year,” Beavis said. “I took over the team and we had one player, one billet house and we had only won ten games in three years. Then we ended up becoming one of the elite teams in the league.”

The NA3HL is the only tier three junior hockey league in the country. It works to develop players from the ages of 16-20.

“I’ve been doing this my whole life,” Beavis said. “It’s about moving guys on to the North American Hockey League and moving guys on to college.”
