When Janine Guido, founder of Speranza Animal Rescue in Pennsylvania, received a call about a stray wandering around Harrisburg, she knew she had to investigate.

After some searching, she finally spotted the poor pup rummaging through a dumpster , desperately trying to find something to eat. The moment she approached, he bolted — straight back to the porch of the home where he once lived.
