A secondary school teacher has died in Neno after reportedly falling from a vehicle on his way to attend a football match.

Eyewitnesses say the incident happened along the road leading to Neno Boma, near a hump close to where the football game was taking place. The victim allegedly fell off the vehicle he was traveling in.

Authorities from the Neno District Education Office have confirmed the incident, identifying the deceased as Chisomo Mphande, a teacher at Chifunga Community Day Secondary School.

Reports indicate that Mphande and others were on their way to watch a football match at Neno Community Ground when the tragedy occurred.
