KANSAS CITY — Saquon Barkley was bottled up and kept out of the end zone in Super Bowl LIX. But on Sunday, it took the Eagles star less than a quarter to score against the Chiefs.

Barkley scored his first touchdown of the 2025 season on a 13-yard run, bursting through an open hole and giving the Eagles a 7-0 first-quarter lead at Arrowhead Stadium.

Barkley is coming off a historic first season with the Eagles in which he became one of nine NFL players to rush for 2,000 yards in a season.

But stopping Barkley was paramount for the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX; Kansas City sold out on No. 26 and held him to 57 rushing yards.

Dallas did the same in last week’s season opener. The Cowboys loaded the box against Barkley, holding the former Penn State star to 60 rushing yards on 18 carries
