Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has outlined the problem with fitting club captain Bruno Fernandes into Ruben Amorim's system.
Fernandes has been a talisman for United since joining from Sporting CP in January 2020. But he has seen his role in the team change following the arrival of Amorim last season.
The midfielder is being employed in one of the two deeper-lying midfield roles in the manager’s 3-4-2-1 system. However, he failed to make an impact against Manchester City , and was criticised for failing to track Phil Foden’s run for the first goal of the Manchester derby as United fell to a 3-0 defeat at the Etihad.
