Australia's first Golden Bachelor has been revealed as Bear, a widowed father-of-three who will have 20 over-50s competing for his attention.

The show, hosted by Samantha Armytage and set to air later in the year, will feature Barry "Bear" Myrden on his journey to find love again after losing his wife to an aggressive brain tumour in 2011, after a two-year battle.

The pair had three children - Charlie, Jack, and Declan - who are now aged between 17 and 21 - and although originally from Canada, the widower lives on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
