SOUTHINGTON, Conn. — Connecticut Republicans organized a vigil for Charlie Kirk in just the span of days, beginning planning on Friday for the event at Cadillac Ranch. They expected a small but strong turnout, but the ceremony grew to epic proportions.
“Originally we thought it would just be a small get together of people, but it just exploded," Connecticut Republican Party chairman Ben Proto said. “Today is just beyond our wildest expectations.”
Hundreds of supporters of Kirk came together in Southington to grieve his death, after the 31-year-old was assassinated Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University.
