Iconic Greater Manchester band Happy Mondays have announced a huge 22-date tour that will be held in celebration of a big anniversary.

The band, who formed in Salford in 1980, played an instrumental role in the Madchester movement thanks to hits including Step On, 24 Hour Party People, Loose Fit and Kinky Afro.

Fronted by Shaun Ryder and Bez, the band received their biggest commercial success with their third album Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches, which reached number four in the UK albums chart back in 1990.

To celebrate the iconic album’s 25th anniversary, Happy Mondays have announced they will be going on the road next year for a string of dates - including a big homecoming show in Manchester.
