An East Lothian supermarket was allegedly broken into overnight, with police enquiries ongoing.

The Co-op store on Rosebery Place in Gullane was 'taped off by officers' on Monday morning, according to locals . The incident happened at around 11.55pm on Sunday night.

It is not yet known if anything was taken, with police continuing to investigate.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 11.55pm on Sunday, 14 September, 2025 police received a report of a break-in at the CO-OP shop in Rosebery Place, Gullane.

"Officers are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing."

It's understood that there was a police vehicle parked outside the shop on Monday morning.

The Co-op has been approached for comment.
