CLINTON, Conn. (WTNH) — First responders rescued a sailor and their boat on Friday, according to officials with the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department.

On Sept. 12, members of the volunteer fire department and a Clinton police marine unit responded to the report of a capsized sailboat with one person in the water who appeared to be in distress.

Upon arrival, they found a 10-foot sailboat with one person clinging to the side of the vessel, unable to right it.

Officials said they used their large response boat and medium skiff to rescue the person from the water, right the boat, and bring both back to shore. • Clinton first responders rescue sailboat in distress on Sept. 12, 2025. • Clinton first responders rescue sailboat in distress on Sept. 12, 2025. • Clinton first responders res
