Conservative activist Charlie Kirk (left) interviews Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) during a campaign stop at Generation Church Mesa Campus on Sept. 4, 2024.

Vice President JD Vance says he will host Charlie Kirk's podcast on Sept. 15, days after the conservative activist was shot and killed while speaking at an event at a Utah college on Sept. 10.

"Tomorrow, I will have the honor of hosting the Charlie Kirk Show. Please join me as I pay tribute to my friend," Vance wrote in a post on X on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Kirk, 31, the founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Sept. 10. Police arrested 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson as a suspect in the shooting.

Vance, a longtime friend of Kirk's, escorted his body to Phoenix, Arizona, on Air Force Two on Sept. 11.

How to watch the 'The Charlie Kirk Show'

Vance's appearance on "The Charlie Kirk Show" is expected to air at 12 p.m. ET on Sept. 15.

The podcast can be watched on Rumble or listened to online at Kirk's website or on streaming platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify or Omny FM.

"The Charlie Kirk Show" was Kirk's eponymous podcast, in which he weighed in current events in an "unapologetically conservative, freedom-loving point of view," according to the show's description.

Kirk's wife, Erika Kirk, gave a public address from her husband's podcast studio on Sept. 12. She vowed that Charlie Kirk's podcast would continue after his death, as would college campus tours.

What to know about JD Vance, Charlie Kirk's friendship

In a long tribute posted to X after Kirk's death, the vice president said the activist was a longtime friend, having first met in 2017.

Kirk was an early supporter of Vance's 2021 senate campaign and even introduced the now-vice president to Donald Trump Jr., the post said.

Vance also said Kirk offered "guidance and prayers" after he became the vice presidential nominee.

"So much of the success we've had in this administration traces directly to Charlie's ability to organize and convene," Vance wrote. "He didn't just help us win in 2024, he helped us staff the entire government."

On Sept. 11, Vance missed 9/11 memorial events to fly Kirk's casket and family from Utah to Phoenix, where Turning Point USA is headquartered, on Air Force Two. Second lady Usha Vance and Erika Kirk were seen hand-in-hand as they deplaned.
