Jon Steinlauf , who ran ad-sales operations at the former Scripps Networks and Discovery Communications, along with Warner Bros. Discovery, has joined the board of directors of VideoAmp , one of a number of upstart media-measurement concerns hoping to provide alternatives to Nielsen, the dominant player in the space.

Steinlauf played a significant role in Warner adopting VideoAmp technology to provide alternative measurement technology to advertisers in recent years. Nielsen and Warner Bros. Discovery recently announced it had renewed a contract for Nielsen to provide its measurement data to the media conglomerate, though it has also maintained a contract with VideoAmp.
