While hosting the 2025 Emmy Awards, Nate Bargatze folded in a joke about American Eagle's ad starring the Euphoria star—a campaign that sparked backlash, with critics alleging that it promoted eugenics .

"I have a blue jean tux on for some reason," the comedian said onstage at the Sept. 14 show. "Do we have like, a joke, there's a cummerbund and I forgot what it- I don't know. Alright. Please welcome two-time Emmy nominee Sydney Sweeney."
