While many of us dream of striking gold in a charity shop, it's rare to walk away having found something really valuable for a bargain. However, one man is celebrating after purchasing an unassuming tin for £10 , only to find it filled with rare and collectible coins.

After taking a "little look" inside the box, he decided to take a gamble to the tune of £10 , having spotted several old coins and wondering if they held any value. In a TikTok video, he confessed his lack of knowledge about coins and asked his followers for their opinions. To his dismay, he received numerous comments suggesting they were practically worthless and would fetch him a mere £25 at best.

Nonetheless, he conducted his own research and listed one of the 'rarer' coins on eBay to see if it could turn a profit.
