Garrett Crochet had a great outing as the Boston Red Sox avoided being swept by the New York Yankees on Sunday.

The Red Sox hosted the Yankees on Sunday Night Baseball, and Boston cruised to a 6-4 win after taking a 6-0 first-inning lead.

Crochet went six innings, allowing three runs and striking out 12 in a great performance. After the game, Red Sox manager Alex Cora praised his ace for his performance and for helping the team avoid the sweep.

“He was locked in from the get-go,” Cora said .

Entering the game, Crochet knew he needed to be on his A-game and to help the Red Sox get back on track.
