Two wins to start the season for the Powassan Voodoos means a number of players have stepped up. Anthony Boyes was one of the them and has earned North Ontario Junior Hockey League honours.

The 19-year-old Boyes, who is a product of his hometown North Bay Trappers minor hockey program, kicked off his second NOJHL campaign pacing Powassan offensively in a pair of season-opening victories over the weekend. Article content Article content

He tallied twice in each win, that included a couple of man advantage efforts and added a short-handed marker, along with an assist.

Dating back to last season, Boyes has scored eight times in his past nine contests. Article content Article content
