Bonnie Raitt reminded Detroit on Saturday night, Sept. 13, why she has lasted for more than five decades as one of music’s most timeless treasures.

At 75 her voice remains a rich, raspy instrument — soulful, weathered and still capable of cutting straight through to the heart. Add her masterful slide guitar playing and wry, down-to-earth storytelling, and you had a night at the Fox Theatre that felt both intimate and monumental.
