WICKENBURG, AZ (AZFamily) — It’s always Something Good when obstetric healthcare becomes more accessible to everyone, no matter where you live.

First responders in rural towns across Arizona are receiving life-saving training, specifically for obstetrics, using advanced, realistic and responsive simulation mannequins that can breathe and talk just like a real patient.

The mannequins give doctors and nurses hands-on training that mimics birth emergencies like severe bleeding, seizures and cardiac arrest.

Doctors and nurses at Wickenburg Community Hospital were the first stop of the medical training tour, which will be repeated at other rural and tribal hospitals where emergency rooms are often the only option for pregnant women in crisis.
