At least two people were in custody, with other suspects possibly still be at-large in the south suburbs Monday morning, with multiple police departments involved after a group of people stealing a car in a residential neighborhood fled the scene after officers attempted to stop them.

The police pursuit led the Will County Sheriff's Office to issue a two-hour long shelter-in-place near Tinley Park and Frankfort Square, with officials asking residents to remain inside homes with doors locked.

About 5:30 a.m. Monday, the Matteson Police Department said it had receive a 911 call that several subjects, reportedly armed with guns, near Central Avenue and Vollmer Road were "acting suspiciously."
