Today is Battle of Britain Day! It marks 85 years since the fiercest day of aerial combat during the epic struggle by Allied air crews to defeat the Nazi’s Luftwaffe in World War Two. ‌

On September 15, 1940, 1,500 planes were involved in fighting as ‘The Few’ of the outnumbered RAF successfully saw off a huge Nazi attack, saving the UK from Adolf Hitler’s planned invasion . ‌
