Syracuse, N.Y. – Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon today is proposing a $1.6 billion budget for 2026 that, among other initiatives, would include $6 million for a new sheriff’s helicopter and $700,000 to begin using drones to respond to 911 calls.

McMahon began presenting his proposal to the county Legislature at 11 a.m. today.
