Police have charged an Allegheny County man with intentionally starting a fire that killed his teen daughter and injured his wife.

Brian Jeffrey Shelleby, 46, of Castle Shannon, has been charged with homicide, arson and causing or risking a catastrophe, according to TribLive.

Police said in a criminal complaint that they received several 911 calls about an explosion and fire at a home along the 800 block of Corbett Drive at about 10 a.m. Sunday.

While putting out the blaze, firefighters attempted to rescue two people trapped inside. One of them, Lakyn Shelleby, 19, was unresponsive when firefighters found her and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other person, Carly Shelleby, was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
