Rep. Nancy Mace announced a resolution Monday to bring the body of late MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk to the Capitol Rotunda, an honor generally reserved for presidents, representatives, judges and military leaders.

"Today we filed our resolution to allow Charlie Kirk to lie in honor in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda," she wrote via X. "It is an honor he deserves a thousand times over, should his family wish it. May God rest his soul."

Kirk's body was flown back to Arizona on Air Force Two last week, accompanied by Vice President JD Vance, his wife Usha Vance and Kirk's widow, Erika.

The tradition of displaying the caskets of "the Nation’s most distinguished citizens" started in 1852 under Henry Clay.
