A veteran Arkansas police officer with a massive social media following was arrested over the weekend, according to officials.

Officer Tommy Norman was taken into custody on Saturday, Sept. 13, in connection with a domestic violence dispute, according to a press release from the North Little Rock Police Department.

Police said that Norman was placed on administrative leave "pending the outcome of the judicial process and an internal investigation." He has worked at the agency for 27 years, the press release stated.

Norman has gained popularity on social media, garnering nearly 2 million followers on Instagram for his community centered content . He was reportedly a recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.
