BEAUMONT, Texas — A 22-year-old Jefferson County man pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday during a hearing in Jefferson County's Criminal District Court.
Judge John Stevens sentenced Austin Dewayne Shoemaker, 22, to 20 years on each count, with the sentences running concurrently. The charges stem from sexual assaults of a 13-year-old victim that happened in March 2025 at a Beaumont hotel, according to the probable cause affidavit. The victim in the sexual assault case was interviewed at the Garth House, according to court documents.
The court also revoked Shoemaker's probation on a separate felony theft charge from 2022, adding five years to his sentence to run concurrent with the sexual assault convi
