The 2025 Emmy Awards did more than just celebrate Hollywood’s biggest achievements. It also shed light on those we lost this year.

As per usual, the Emmys’ “In Memoriam” segment took time to honor the TV and movie stars, industry pros, and producers who died in the past year. One of the late stars included was celebrity chef and CNY native Anne Burrell .

Born in Cazenovia, Burrell tragically passed away on June 17, 2025, at age 55. She was discovered unconscious in the shower that morning by her husband, Stuart Claxton. Approximately 100 pills surrounded Burrell, whose cause of death was later ruled as suicide.
